Services for March 2019

March 3 - Our program this morning will look at the other half of the coming out story, the straight spouse. We will watch a TED talk by Emily Reese entitled "The Other Side of the Closet: A Straight Spouse Speaks Out". Join us for this informative video and discussion.

March 10 - This morning's program will include a video of a sermon by Rev. Beth Dana, recorded at the First Unitarian Church in Dallas, TX. The video is entitled "The Limits of Tolerance" and explores the balance between tolerance and healthy boundaries.

March 24 - Our service this morning will be a time of reflection on the recent tragedy in Christchurch, New Zealand. From half a world away there may be little we can do to directly help the victims of this terror attack, but there is much we can do to prepare ourselves for when it happens closer to home.  Childrens' religious education will be available for the youth of the congregation.  Come join us for this time of introspection and discussion.

March 31 - Jim Hilkin will give a presentation on the Blue Grass Road, the early predecessor of US Hwy 34, and the first road across the state between Burlington and Council Bluffs. Come enjoy this presentation on a facinating bit of Iowa history.
