August and September Services at the UU Fellowship at Burlington, IA

August 12 - Our program this morning will present a sermon by Wilson Hubbell of Live Oak Unitarian in Goleta, CA. The sermon is titled "UUs in a Blue Collar World", and will be followed by discussion and our coffee hour.  Come join us this morning for fellowship and discussion.

August 19 - Rick Johnson will lead this morning's service entitled "Love Calls Us On". The words of Rev. Anthony Makar, Senior Minister at the UU Congregation of Atlanta, GA, will be our sermon this morning as we look at why we, as religious liberals, are called to advocate for those out of power in our country.

September 9 - We begin our new church year with our Ingathering Service this morning, a celebration of our shared experiences over this past summer. Rick Johnson will lead this service and you are invited to share stories of your summer activities with the congregation. As always, you are invited to bring water to share during our Water Communion today!

September 16 - The refugee crisis in Syria has been in our headlines for quite some time. But how many of us truly understand the scope and causes of the problem. This morning's program will look at a presentation about the crisis from the Foreign Policy Association.  Discussion and coffee will follow.

September 23 - The opioid epidemic has taken the lives of thousands of people in our heartland regions. We will explore this crisis during our program today with a video from the Wall Street Journal that looks at some families touched by this epidemic.
